There are multiple ways to mark all emails as read in Gmail web. Google doesn’t offer a direct option to mark all emails as read. Go through the steps below to mark all emails as read in Gmail web.
Step 1: Open the browser on your PC and navigate to Gmail.
Step 2: Sign in using your Google account credentials.
Step 3: From the default ‘Inbox’ menu, you will see your emails neatly getting divided into Primary, Social, Promotions, Updates, and Forums.
Step 4: You will find the Search Mail option at the top.
Step 5: Type label:inbox is:unread in the search field at the top of the page.
Step 6: Gmail will display the first 20 unread messages in your inbox.
Step 7: You can tap on the three-dot menu and select the ‘Mark all as read’ option. Alternatively, you can choose the ‘Select All’ option and tap on the down arrow icon and select ‘Read’ from the drop-down menu.
You can also tap the ‘Select all’ option in every section and mark all the emails as read. But I won’t recommend using that option as you might miss some of the important emails in the process.
You should follow the steps above, have a glance over the unread emails, and if all seems fine, then you should use the mark all read option.

Email messages you haven’t read yet have a blue dot or star (for messages from VIPs) next to them. When you select a message to read it, the dot or star disappears. If you want, you can manually mark messages as read or unread.
In the Mail app on your Mac, select one or more read or unread messages.
Choose Message > Mark > As Unread or Message > Mark > As Read to change the status.
To mark one message, you can also swipe right with two fingers on the trackpad, then click Mark as Unread or Mark as Read.
If a mailbox in the Mail sidebar contains unread messages, you can easily mark them all as read. Control-click the mailbox, then choose Mark All Messages As Read.
